Final exam
Information about the final exam period, the application process and the conditions of application: LINK

Final exam can be taken if:
- All pre-conditions are met before the Final exam
- All necessary subjects (120 credit points) are successfully completed:
85 credit compulsory subjects + 25 credits elective subjects + 10 credits optional subjects - Compulsory internship is completed
- Thesis is submitted by the submission deadline
- All outstanding liabilities are paid
- All necessary subjects (120 credit points) are successfully completed:

Student who have any debt to the university will not be allowed to take the Final Exam.

3rd July (Wednesday) 2024, 10:00-14:00

Phases of the final exam:
- Thesis defence
- The defence of the thesis has to reveal whether candidates themselves have prepared the work or not. The student presents his/her work and results to the Final Examination Board in 15 minutes. The student may use any format for the ppt slides.
- The candidate must answer the questions and critique he/she has received in the report of the external examiner, and the questions, that the Final Examination Board has (Q&A is 5 minutes long)
- Oral complex exam
- The students must complete an oral exam in 3 subjects: Python Programming, Machine Learning and Digital Twins. In each subject, there is a predefined set of 5 possible topics. You can download them here: Final exam topics
- At the exam, the student randomly draws a topic from each of the 3 subjects.
- The student gets a brief preparation time, he/she can take some notes.
- The student performs an oral exam in front of the exam committee from the 3 randomly assigned topics. First, the student has to speak about the chosen topic, then he/she must answer the questions asked by members of the committee
Assesment of the Final exam:
Boards of the final examination have to assess thesis and final exam on a five-scale grade.
Regulations on unsuccessful final exam (TVSZ §83)
- A final examination has to be regarded as unsuccessful if either the thesis project or the thesis-defence or any of the subject-specific/complex final examinations were unsuccessful.
- An unsuccessful final examination can be retaken only in the following final exam periods, and only twice.
- If a thesis is not accepted, the competent Final Examination Board decides whether it is possible to rewrite the thesis with the required changes or it is necessary to prepare a new one.
- The Final Exam can be taken in any final exam period of each academic year within 2 years from issuing the final certificate under the same conditions. After the expiry of this
period, the Board of Studies in charge will decide on the requirements of taking the Final Exam. - Thesis expires after 6 consecutive Final exam periods after its submission.
